Behind my lens

Welcome to Cheryl's focus; thoughts, behind my lens. Sometimes serious, sometimes not.

Wild Flowers

I just wanted to share my purple wild flowers today. Without a macro, I got what I could by getting in close to show the resemblance of the Caterpillar. How similar these different life forms are!
We always enjoy a walk with Roxy, our "other kid with the golden tail and feathers" and usually walk near 3.5 miles. We walk the same walk often, but always see it in a different light. (Parts of it anyway.)
I almost stepped on a California King Snake the other day, and then about 4 feet latter my husband discovered yet another sleek and frozen like a stick, lime green and natural colored snake. I guess its that time of the year here in California, where, what seems to be the same, is ever changing. Sometimes you just need to take a second look.

The moon prop

The moon is coming back. I will be doing a christening session soon with a one year old on the moon. I just wanted to show a little sample for those of you who may think this custom made prop is only for little ones! I am pulling up a Dec. shot here, but wanted to show off these handsom guys. I am not always great about updating content on my regular web site. This is much easier, and will get my creative juices going for the spring shots using this giant prop.

Meet Sean

Meet Sean, my son, who doesn't like to have his picture taken. The white stripe at the top is my car door, as I sneeked up on him from outside, waiting for a client to arrive. Since I have been working on graphics this week, I thought I would throw this in there, just to stay up with blogger. Although this may not be technically acceptable to some as really great "portraiture", I still love this shot because it seems to portray his patience and quietness.
